More than finish lines

This journey is about much more than medals and finish lines. Every race stands for awareness, support and hope for families affected by cancer, MS and epilepsy.
One mission. Multiple finish lines. Countless meaningful steps.

The Road Around the World

Running the World Marathon Majors started as a personal dream, but it has become something much bigger. Over the coming years, I will take on some of the world’s most iconic marathons while raising awareness and funds for cancer, MS and epilepsy.

From Berlin to New York, and beyond. Every race represents another step for the generations before us, beside us and after us.

The Journey

Berlin Marathon

September 2026
Status: First Marathon Major
My first Marathon Major Berlin is where it all begins. The streets of the German capital have seen some of the fastest marathon times in history, on a flat, electric course through iconic landmarks. But for me, crossing that finish line for the first time will not be about the clock. It will be about what this journey stands for.

London Marathon

April 2027?
Status: Registered for the lottery. So now crossing fingers ...

Few marathons carry the atmosphere of London. Millions of spectators, a course through the heart of one of the world's greatest cities, and a finish line on The Mall. London has always been a dream. Now it is part of the mission.

New York City Marathon

The New York City Marathon is the biggest in the world. Five boroughs, two million spectators and a finish line in Central Park. There is something about running through New York that feels like running through the heart of the world. This one will be unforgettable.

Boston Marathon

The Boston Marathon is the oldest annual marathon in the world and definitely one of the hardest to enter. I will have to earn my place with a very fast qualifying time. So I will need to run a PR in another marathon first. That challenge makes it even more meaningful. Running Boston would be a statement: that this journey is not just a dream, but something truly earned through hard work and dedication.

Chicago Marathon

The Chicago Marathon is fast, flat and held on one of the most runner-friendly courses in the world. All this in a city that throws one of the biggest parties in marathon running. A race that will push me to give everything I have.

Tokyo Marathon

The Tokyo Marathon is precision, passion and an atmosphere unlike anything else in the world. The Japanese crowds are legendary, quiet but deeply respectful. Running through Tokyo will be a humbling experience, and one I cannot wait for.

Sydney Marathon

Since 2025 is Sydney one of the World Marathon Majors. Sydney brings the journey to the other side of the world, and what a backdrop! The Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, the sparkling blue water. A race as spectacular as the city itself, and a reminder that this mission truly knows no borders.

Cape Town Marathon

Cape Town hopes to also receive the status of World Marathon Major in 2026. Cape Town is one of the most beautiful marathon courses in the world, with Table Mountain as a backdrop and the energy of South Africa all around. A powerful race for a powerful mission and a fitting step towards completing the journey.

Shanghai Marathon

The Shanghai marathon hopes to also obtain the status of World Marathon Major in 2027. Shanghai represents the global reach of this journey. A modern, vibrant metropolis with a growing passion for marathon running. Running through Shanghai will be a reminder that the causes we run for touch families everywhere, in every city, on every continent.
